After creating our affiliate program, our first course of action was to bring a killer athlete onto the team. Vrbs is proud to support Nicky Dupkin, an ultrarunner who embodies the spirit of Vrbs and our RUN coffee line.
Let's hear from Nicky directly:
"Hi! I’m Nicky Dupkin, a 22-year-old ultramarathon runner from Long Island, NY. I started running in 2021 after reading Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins and quickly fell in love with long-distance running. I was fortunate enough to walk onto my college’s cross country team, but I always knew I wanted to run ultras, so I used that experience as training for my first ultramarathon. Since running my first ultra in 2024, I’ve been hooked on the long-distance lifestyle. The joy, pain, suffering, and relief that running gives me is something I want to feel forever, and that’s why I keep lacing up my shoes every day.”
I’ve ran with Nicky a couple times. On one occasion he signed up last minute to run the Hamptons Marathon (as a practice run for his ultras…). I noticed he wasn’t wearing headphones and asked him about it:
"When I’m out running, that’s all I’m thinking about. When I started in 2021, I felt a sense of clarity and satisfaction that nothing else could give me. From that moment on, running became a huge part of my life, and I’ve been grinding ever since. It brings me so much joy and relief that I never feel the need for distractions like headphones; I just want to be fully present.
Now in 2025, I’ve made tremendous progress in my running journey. I’ve completed numerous ultramarathons, ranging from 50Ks to 12-hour events. My mindset has shifted toward a more professional focus. While the joy is still there, I’m now running with a greater purpose: to become as fit as possible and eventually compete at the highest level of ultramarathon running."
